Silence Kills!!

Part 1
12.50 AM
He slowy poured whiskey into his glass, lit a cigar and sat down to admire the beautiful view made by the moonlight that swept over the city that lay at his feet.

He smiled at the fact that he was sitting in one of the most expensive houses, sipping one of the most expensive whiskey and also that he was smoking cigars that cost $300 each. Los Angeles looked like a playground from his house sitting on the slopes of Hollywood Hills. As he indulged in his luxuries, he thought about how he'd reached this level, it had'nt been easy and honestly, he thought, he had one of the most toughest jobs in the world! All the troubles he'd conquered, all the dangers he'd faced, he felt he deserved what ever he had.

But he'd run into a serious problem this time, he had thought of various possible solutions to it, and had come to the conclusion that his last preference was the best. That was why he was here tonight, or he would have been at a movie, his second interest after his job.

He convinced himself that there was no other way, his job came before anything else, and who could blame him? It was his profession that had bought him this far in life.
As he waited for his girlfriend, Kate, to arrive, he thought of all the good times they'd had. He had known the relationship was one of risks and danger, but Kate's love had blinded him. He still wished he could do something to keep their relationship alive, but there was no other way. So he sat and waited, Kate was supposed to meet him, and she was already an hour late. But John was patient, his job required patience, so he lit another cigar after throwing the butt of the previous one.

*Ding!*

John stood up, leaving his whiskey glass on the table, went to the door. Unlocking the bolt, he opened it. As always, Kate left John breathless,

"Hello" he stammered.
"Hi" she smiled.
"Come on in" he said, stepping aside to allow her to enter. She walked in, removing her coat, which John took and hanged behind the door.
Kate took out her pistol and placed it on the table, along with its harness.
"So," she asked," what was so important that made you call me during work?"
"You look beautiful Kate" replied John. Kate blushed," Thanks".

"I called you because what I have to tell you is really important" said John.
Kate moved towards him suspiciously, "What is it?" she asked.
"All the strange killings that have been taking place, well....................."

No one heard the scream that issued from the isolated house. The moon sank lower and lower, and no one, not even John could have guessed the amount of attention Hollywood Hills would receive the next morning.

PS: I'll continue the story, but before that, please leave your comments about this segment.

Silence Kills!! - Things go wrong

Part 2
Kate sat in the corner of the living room, sobbing uncontrollably. She took one teary look at the room and let out a wail!

After what seemed like hours to her, she got up, dropped her pistol on the table went to the bathroom, and washed her face, after taking a sip of water, she took out her phone with trembling hands, there was no tone.
She headed for the main door, picking up her pistol as she went. Removing her jacket from behind the door, with one hand on the doorknob, she took one last look at the room, sniffing, she went out, got into her car, and pulled out of the driveway.

After descending the mountain, she tried her phone again, there was a tone, she dialed a number,

*ring-ring*
"Hello, Cain here,"
"H-h-hel-lo" Kate stammered, taking a deep breath, she said, "Mike, Kate here."
"Kate!" replied the Special Agent, Michael Cain , sounding thoroughly relieved, "where did you disappear, you did'nt even inform anyone, and your phone was out of reach too!"
"I-i'm sorry Mike, but i'm on my way" replied Kate.
"Is something wrong Kate, you sound different" asked Michael Cain anxiously.
"Actually, there's something I have to tell you, i'll be at HQ in another 40 minutes" said Kate.

6 miles away
A man staggered out of his car, he was panting, sweating and was bruised badly. Everything had gone wrong, he still couldn't grasp how he'd failed this time, after all, he was the best, having never failed before. After the initial shock and horror, a new emotion came over him, panic, fear. He was in deep deep trouble now, he wondered what his boss would say, wondered what he should do next.
Slowly and grudgingly he took out his phone.
