This is another one of those instances, trust me, there are a lot of these instances.
So, the other day, I'm bored. Decided to call up a friend of the feminine kind.
Me: Hey! What's up?
G1: Hey, nothing much. How come you called?
Me: I was bored, thought I'd check in on you. =) {observe the benevolence}
G1: Oh, so you call me only when you're bored huh?
Me: Err.
I don't gettit! Why else would you call a person to talk to? Does she expect me to call her in the middle of a surgery? "Hey, I'm getting my guts ripped out, thought I should let you know."
And I did ask her that. She tells me, I should call her when I'm happy. So I proceed to make a mental note and do just that.
A few days later.....
Me: Hey! I'm having an ice cream and I feel awesome.
G1: How rude you are, having an ice cream without me and then rubbing it in!
I'm still going, what just happened here! She asked me to call when I'm happy, didn't she?
Anyway, after monumentally cocking up, the wise old me decided to narrate this to another girl and take her opinion on whether or not this is normal behaviour.
They should invent an app I tell you, that can analyse your brain signals and then give you sound advice on what to do and what not to do.
So, I call her
Me: Hey, watcha doin?
G2: Hiiieeeeeee! I'm finishing up a draft.
Me: Can I pick your brain for a second?
G2: Sure! What's on your mind?
Me: *Narrate the whole story* Is it normal.
G2: You're such an asshole, you call other girls when you're bored huh? Are you implying I'm not fun or something?
Me: How can you not be fun, you always talk so loud and happy!
G2: The nerve of you! Now you're implying I'm annoying! Goodbye!
(Ok, I might have exaggerated a bit at the last, but it went somewhere down that tangent, being a little more drab)

Maybe I should move to the mountains and socialise with the birds and trees :\

Hahaha ! I agree with Ash, it only calls for some rephrasing and intelligent-er use of words to get even with us. and if you've seen what a woman's dictionary looks like, words like Fine, Whatever, Let it be - have very different meanings. xD

You could re-phrase, or spend more time talking to the evolved kind, like moi.

girls are a bit insecure. they need assurance. that's it.
its been long since I have been with a guy who always call me when he is *bored*, but over with that phase and now I can understand guys much better.
they are more precise and sense.
